Comecer to launch GMP vial filling line for small batches at CPhI

New small aseptic filling machine can be integrated inside an isolator or RABS as part of a complete production line

Comecer has designed a filling system suitable for the production of batches for clinical trials or for development of sterile, cytotoxic, liquid or lyophilised drugs, in a sterile, contained, grade A environment. The Baby Phill will be launched at CPhI in Barcelona on 4-6 October on stand 2D32.

The new machine has been designed to fill small batches of vials for applications in R&D, clinical trials and advanced therapeutic medicanal products (ATMP). The filling line can be enclosed in a laminar flow isolator or RABS, and has a 'one button' sterilisation capability via a built-in vaporised hydrogen peroxide (VPHP) generator.

Comecer claims that the plug-and-play Baby Phill offers superior integration with isolation technology, combined with a very small footprint. The all-in-one system includes controls such weight check, stopper check and crimp inspection. It also offers a smart interface to other equipment, such as a lyophiliser.

Other benefits are a compact and clean GMP design, rapid changeover times and integrated environmental monitoring. The system is also ready for use with disposable technology and is capable of producing up to 1,000 liquid or lyophilised vials an hour.

Comecer has released a video showing a complete system comprising an aseptic containment isolator with a loading chamber attached to a sterilisation and depyrogenation tunnel with a vial washing machine and integrated lyophiliser.
