GEA seals the deal

GEA is pleased to announce the sale of a PERFORMA P rotary tablet press to first-time customer farmatek, a privately owned Turkish pharmaceutical company

During last week’s CPhI trade show in Frankfurt, Germany, GEA and farmatek shook hands to complete the sale of a PERFORMA P tablet press.

Founded in 1991 to import and introduce pharmaceutical products into Turkish medicine, farmatek began its operations by importing hemophilia, immunoglobulin and intensive care products. Since then, the company has expanded its portfolio with several dermatology, cardiology, urology and surgical products to meet market requirements.

The versatile and cost-effective PERFORMA P features the exclusive Exchangeable Die Disc (EDD) technology that enables faster and easier format changeovers than a conventional exchangeable turret. Plus, the machine also offers extended dwell times at pre-compression and main compression, along with the ability to freely adjust this dwell time independently of machine speed.

Phil Gabb, GEA’s Head of Solid Dosage Sales Support, stated: “I am delighted that a forward-thinking company such as farmatek is investing in GEA equipment. We are a trusted supplier of innovative manufacturing solutions and this recent order further emphasises the fact that quality counts when it comes to buying reliable production equipment.”

“With an established pedigree of compression expertise, we can help companies all over the world to maximise their R&D efforts and capitalise on the very worthwhile expenditure by getting first-rate products to market quicker,” he added, concluding: “I am optimistic that this is just the beginning of a long-term relationship.”

“The PERFORMA P’s flexibility is ideal for farmatek’s R&D and small-medium level production,” noted the company’s Chairman of the Board.

The press competes extremely well with other, much larger equipment, offering double the output of similarly sized machines and the ability to quickly adjust key parameters. It’s exactly what we need for farmatek to remain true to its mission and continue to press forward in the Turkish healthcare market.
