Among the systems shown by Bosch Packaging Technology at Achema in May will be the GKF HiProTect capsule filling machine – an integrated isolation systems for processing potent substances – and the new GKF 1400 ASB 100% weight checking machine.

Through an array of automated processes and complete internal containment, GKF HiProTect minimises contamination due to human error. It not only completely eliminates contact between operator and potent substances, but also obviates the need for expensive and awkward air suits, masks and other safety equipment.

Its advanced powder dosing station for precision capsule filling gives it a highly accurate fill weight, while its innovative design helps avoid product loss and provides easy accessibility to the station.

The new compact weight checking machine has already proved useful for the production of small batches of clinical trial samples at Sanofi-Aventis. The manufacturer required a flexible machine for a variety of capsule formats – liquid capsules, powder in capsules, pellet capsules, even tablets in capsules.

Also featuring on the Bosch stand (F2-J11 Hall 3.1) is the GKF 1400 ASB 100% machine which ensures 100% weight control. Each capsule is weighed individually and with high precision on the integrated control unit to provide high production quality and yield. The filling station readjusts the integrated weight regulation system to be suitable for pellets and powder applications. This ensures that the dosing weight is within the required tolerance limits throughout the production process.
