Traceability Manager software manages all stages of the supply chain

Avery Dennison Retail Branding and Information Solutions (RBIS) exhibited product marking and traceability solutions as well as packaging solutions for the pharmaceuticals sector that dramatically decrease waste.

The firm’s solutions cover all stages of the supply chain process including product marking with the new ALX 73x series printer of self-adhesive labels, carton marking with the ALX 924, and pallet marking with the SS4 solution for stored products and the 9906 for shipped products.

The ALX 73x can reach a speed of approximately 400mm a second. It uses larger rolls of labels and foil, which reduces production downtime and overall cost. A sustainable foil save function can help to reduce environmental impact by only using the amount of ink that is needed.

The different stages of the supply chain are managed using Traceability Manager software, which in addition to ensuring complete product traceability, controls each individual step throughout the production process.

The firm’s sustainable packaging solutions include Avery Dennison Greenprint. Based on life cycle analysis methodology, this translates complex data into a user-friendly snapshot of six impact categories, including greenhouse gases, energy use and solid waste.

Additionally, the application of Avery Dennison’s Elastic Staple Fastener can decrease product packaging significantly, enabling businesses to reduce manufacturing costs and avoid material wastage. The solution can eliminate the need for protective product packaging such as blister pack or clamshells by fastening the product directly onto a backing card. The backing card can be made from recycled materials, further reducing the packaging footprint.
