Cole-Parmer offers new Oakton Temp 9000/9500 benchtop temperature controllers with more accurate control combined with flexible features

Temperature control just became more efficient with the new Oakton Temp 9000/9500 benchtop temperature controllers. The enhanced temperature controllers from Cole-Parmer allow users to plug heating devices right into the convenient receptacles for more accurate control.

The Oakton Temp 9000 Thermocouple Controller offers a simultaneous view of both the actual reading and set point on the two-line alphanumeric display. The selectable temperature scale reads in °F, °C, K (Kelvin), or °R (Rankine). It is mountable on a laboratory frame or grid. The 9000 model accepts eight thermocouple types with miniconnectors.

The Oakton Temp 9500 Advanced Multiparameter Controller builds on all of the benefits of the 9000 model, with even more enhanced features including sophisticated PID control. The higher heater output capacity and ramp-and-soak profiling is useful for more complicated processes. A USB computer interface and free software assist with real-time graphing and programming setup.

The unit offers 4 to 20 mA and 1 to 5 V outputs for connection to a recorder or data logger. In addition to accepting eight thermocouple types with miniconnectors, it also accepts thermistor and RTD probes.

Both the 9000 and 9500 temperature controllers have built-in safety features that make them laboratory-friendly. They automatically shut down in the event of a broken sensor or control loop break. Their over-temperature protection shuts down the system via the user-settable limit or timer. Their outlets’ power receptacles are fused separately. They contain both audible and visual out-of-range alarms.
