Marken appoints new General Manager for China

The appointment coincides with opening of a Beijing depot by the global supply chain solutions provider

Marken has appointed Joan Yan as General Manager for its Beijing office.

Yan takes responsibility for logistics operations in China and will also have administrative responsibility for the new depot, which has recently been commissioned for the GMP storage and distribution of drug product and ancillary materials.

She has more than 10 years of supply chain management experience, which includes both domestic and international transportation, customs brokerage, customer service and account management. She joins the company from CEVA Logistics. Prior to CEVA, Yan worked with DB Schenker China, Chunfai International and Perkin Elmer China.

Wes Wheeler, Marken's CEO, said: ‘Joan brings a very important balance of logistics, healthcare and technical expertise to Marken and will be an important part of our growth strategy in China. She will also be instrumental in blending our new depot facility, which is adjacent to our logistics operations, into our China business model, which will offer a wide range of services to our pharmaceutical clients.’
