Four-sided containers require non-standard and unusual U-labelling

Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics has installed a Herma 040M wrap-around labelling system as part of a new filling and labelling line at its facility in Marburg, Germany.

The system supplied by Herma, a European specialist in self-adhesive technology located in Filderstadt near Stuttgart, applies labels to four-sided plastic containers for diagnostic fluids with a single label on three sides, which is called U-labelling. The Herma system is precise and of compact design and has been integrated into the relatively restricted space available without any compromise in terms of performance or ease of use.

The modular structure of the Herma system from proven standard components guarantees a high level of reliability, while being flexible enough to add a number of individual special features, said Jens Geisel, Project Manager at Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics.

The diverse portfolio of the Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics products includes a large selection of analytical systems for clinical chemistry, immunodiagnostics, haematology, haemostasis, microbiology, diabetes, urine chemistry, blood gas analysis and molecular diagnostics, as well as laboratory automation. The company employs around 14,000 people worldwide and has its main European production site in Marburg.
