XC6 is also able to print on a range of materials

The cab XC6 thermal transfer printer, available from AM Labels, is the first of a new generation of high performance printers boasting a host of advanced features, including two-colour printing.

The Kettering, UK-based firm says the German-made printer is suitable for printing labels with splashes of colour on them, such as diamonds on chemical labels or warning and hazard labels.

The XC6 prints onto a range of materials and produces labels at 300dpi resolution that are waterproof, and chemical, scratch and UV resistant. It also meets the GHS classification and labelling obligations for chemicals.

The printer takes a 300mm label roll, with the option to include a cutter with integrated stacker and external re-winder. It can be controlled remotely through a variety of advanced features without needing a local computer, which makes it suitable for use in factories and warehouses.

Tony Mariani, technical director at AM Labels, said: ‘This is the first time it has been possible to print two-colour thermal transfer labels in-house, ensuring that the XC6 will reap dividends for the user long into the future.’

Other features of the XC6 include a large graphic display for easy monitoring of label process and USB, Ethernet and serial (without function) interfaces, two USB interfaces for input (scanner, keyboard etc.). There is also a slot for wireless LAN-Wi-Fi-card and CompactFlash Type I memory card.

The XC6 weighs 22kg, the printing speed is 127mm (5in) a second, and its dimensions are 395 (H) x 248 (W) x 554mm (D).
