Maximum flexibility was the objective when developing the new Blister Express Center 500

Increasing pack diversity and numerous pack sizes have given rise to demand for flexible packaging machines that can be adjusted to different formats quickly and easily. At the same time, it is necessary to meet the increasingly exacting requirements of authorities and customers, while keeping within tight budget limits.

Uhlmann’s response to these demands is the new Blister Express Center 500. The integrated line for the packaging of solid dose products is extremely easy to operate and guarantees maximum process reliability – with an output of up to 500 blisters and 250 or 500 cartons/minute.

The integrated, end-to-end system perfectly combines a blister and a cartoner module in a line less than 10m in length. Double-lane operation, significantly simplified, fast format changeovers, and constant processing times during forming and sealing ensure consistently high blister quality.

The integrated system processes all standard solid dose products and types of forming material. The changeover process has been simplified considerably by reducing the necessary working steps to a minimum, allowing fast format changeovers in just 30 min. Uhlmann has also implemented several new features to enable easy cleaning.

Practically all parameters can be stored and accessed for automatic adjustment at the touch of a button. Where possible, the Uhlmann design engineers have favoured format-free solutions. The few format parts that need to be replaced are described as light in weight and foolproof.

In addition, a new SmartControl operating system provides guided assistance during a format changeover. It leads the operator through the process step by step. Texts, videos and graphics can also be integrated making the procedure easy to follow by new members of staff or operators accustomed to working with other machines.
