International Laboratory Services is an independent laboratory situated in Shardlow, Derbyshire, UK. We are a busy, modern facility catering for a varied and wide client base. As with most companies, our clients require a fast, efficient and accurate service, therefore we need staff to help us achieve this.
Laboratory Supervisor (Ref 2172)
40 hours a week, Monday to Friday
An opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Supervisor to join our Pharmaceutical Microbiology Team. You will be responsible for the supervision of the department, ensuring its smooth and efficient running by active involvement and control.
You will be dealing directly with customers, via telephone and email, and ensure all results are provided within an agreed timescale working in a fast paced environment; you will ensure a full awareness of the requirements of Standard Test Methods and Operating Procedures and will work in compliance with the requirements of GMP.
To be successful in this role you will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a biological and/or chemistry science or related discipline.
Experience of working within a pharmaceutical microbiology laboratory is essential for this post and experience of leading a team would be an advantage. You will have strong organisational skills and people management skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, the ability to prioritise and have excellent communication skills.
A working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is essential.

We are fully versed in all Pharmacopoeia methodologies or testing to customers’ methods and routinely undertake work for companies around the world. ILS has a vastly experienced team and can advise on regulatory issues, product development studies, scientific evaluation of safety and efficacy data. We provide a full range of pharmaceutical microbiology contract testing and research services.
