Almac and Exco InTouch form alliance
To deliver patient compliance as well as ePRO services using multiple technologies
Almac’s Clinical Technologies business unit, which provides IXRS (Interactive Voice and Web Response) services relating to patient and drug supply management, has formed an exclusive alliance with Exco InTouch, a specialist in patient recruitment, retention, compliance and ePRO services.
The alliance will focus on the integration of technology and processes by both firms to deliver patient management, compliance, retention, and ePRO services to sponsors of clinical trials.
Exco InTouch, which has European headquarters in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, will integrate its technology with Almac’s IXRS platform. This will enable patients to receive messages for key elements of their required study conduct using Short Message Service (SMS) text messages, emails, or phone calls.
The Almac-Exco InTouch alliance will reduce administration and activities relating to protocol compliance, Almac said. Moreover, it provides biopharmaceutical firms with a way to ease a patient’s journey through the clinical trial process using familiar technologies, including phone, web, text messages and email.
Almac president Jim Murphy said the alliance provides a practical, cost-effective solution to managing patients during a clinical trial.
‘Our joint solutions will help enhance patient recruitment, retention, and compliance, three highly critical areas of concern for our clients,’ he said.
Tim Davis, ceo of Exco InTouch, described the relationship as ‘the perfect integration of complementary technology products’.
