B. Braun UK has struck gold after achieving the highest accolade awarded by the UK's leading people management standard. The South Yorkshire-based company has achieved the Investors In People Gold Award - achieved by 3% of IiP assessed certified UK organisations and widely recognised as the benchmark of people management best practice.
Hans Hux, group chief executive of the B. Braun companies in the UK, said: ‘This is a fantastic achievement for B. Braun. I am very proud of the outstanding team of people we have at B. Braun – and this success is testament to the commitment and dedication of every single employee.’
‘The growth and success of our UK business is due to the professionalism, drive and high level of expertise of every single B. Braun employee.’
The company’s Thorncliffe Park headquarters was decked out with gold banners and flags, while gold-painted ‘human statues’ helped staff celebrate their award success.
B. Braun’s commitment to supporting and developing its workforce was judged well beyond the benchmark national quality requirements. To achieve the gold award, companies must achieve at least 165 performance requirements. B. Braun – which achieved the silver IIP standard in 2010 and bronze the year before, surpassed the 165 expectation.
The rigorous assessment included interviews with a great number of B. Braun employees.
The UK’s leading people management standard, Investors in People provides a simple and flexible framework helping thousands of organisations of all sizes and sectors to improve their business performance.
Tracy Croft, learning & development manager, who was leading the IIP team at B. Braun, said: ‘The IIP process requires companies to review their business management strategy and ensure they are performing well in key areas including staff empowerment, involvement, health, wellbeing, recognition, reward, leadership and management.
‘Attaining the gold standard with IIP is a huge accolade as it demonstrates that B. Braun’s learning and development policy is up there in the premier league of the best accredited employers in the UK.’
