Clondalkin appoints chief operating officer for packaging

Mark Rooney has expertise in pharma and healthcare markets

Packaging producer Clondalkin Group has appointed Mark Rooney as chief operating officer for its Specialist Packaging Division.

Rooney has particular expertise within the pharmaceutical and healthcare markets, which will support the Group’s growth plans for these sectors.

Rooney takes responsibility for the implementation of operational plans for the division’s 14 operating companies.

He will also lead the division’s Kaizen process improvement programmes and oversee all plant investments and developments, as well as being involved in the company’s mergers and acquisition plans across Europe.

Clondalkin Group’s Specialist Packaging Division produces cartons, labels, leaflets and inserts, and has approximately 20 manufacturing sites in the UK, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, the US and Puerto Rico and Ireland.
