Inspiration Biopharmaceuticals names John Butler as ceo

Replaces Michael Griffith who takes position of cso

Inspiration Biopharmaceuticals, a US biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of treatments haemophilia, has appointed John Butler as ceo. He has replaced Michael Griffith, who has become chief scientific officer and remains company president.

Butler has joined Inspiration from Genzyme, which was acquired by Sanofi in April. While at Genzyme, he was most recently president of the company's rare genetic diseases business. He also led the company's renal, endocrinology, and cardiovascular businesses.

Prior to Genzyme, Butler held sales and marketing positions at Amgen and Hoffmann-La Roche.
