Successor to Jürgen Hambrecht

Kurt Bock to become chairman of BASF
The Supervisory Board of BASF has appointed Dr Kurt Bock (51) to succeed Dr Jürgen Hambrecht as chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF.

Dr Martin Brudermüller (49) is to become vice chairman.

Both appointments will take effect after the Annual Meeting on 6 May 2011.
