International Data Corporation (IDC) has appointed Massimiliano (Max) Claps as EMEA research director for IDC Health Insights and IDC Government Insights.
In this role, Claps will lead and provide direction for IDC’s ongoing research programmes for the government and healthcare sectors in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He will also be responsible for analysing key trends related to IT strategies and spending in European central and local government and healthcare providers.
With more than 12 years' experience in the technology research industry, Claps has expertise in IT strategy and governance, IT cost optimisation, IT sourcing models such as cloud computing and shared services, and software application products from ERP and CRM to government-specific solutions, such as grants management.
Claps previously worked for IDC from 2002 to 2007, when he led the EMEA Government and Health Insights business and also worked for a year with IDC Canada, where he collaborated in the ramp up of government research. IDC is a subsidiary of IDG, a technology, media, research, and events company.
