From Switzerland to Germany, creating 30 new jobs

From May 2012 the Aenova Group, a German-headquartered manufacturer of solid oral dosage forms, will transfer the manufacture of effervescent products from Bioggio in Switzerland to Bad Aibling in Bavaria, as part of its growth strategy.

The Paehl-based firm will create 30 new jobs at Bad Aibling, some of them to be taken by experts from the Bioggio site.

The plant in Bad Aibling is already established as a centre of expertise for packaging and will be expanded to include effervescent product manufacturing. Two GMP-compliant production lines are being commissioned to produce dietary supplements and medicines.

The new plant will handle large orders for the production and packaging of effervescent tablets and granules and increase capacity to 500 million effervescent tablets or 2,500 tonnes of granules a year.

Aenova also aims to improve the efficiency of its dietary supplement and pharmaceutical business and says relocating production from Switzerland to the EU will simplify and speed up logistical procedures.

Aenova was established in 2008 following the merger of Dragenopharm Apotheker Püschl and Swiss Caps. It is now a leading manufacturer and supplier of medicines and dietary supplements in oral dosage forms, such as soft gelatine capsules, hard capsules, tablets, film-coated tablets, dragées and effervescent tablets for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.

The group aims at an annual turnover of around €250m and employs 1500 people at its sites in Germany (Tittmoning, Berlin, Bad Aibling and Warstein), Switzerland (Kirchberg and Bioggio), France (Lyons), Romania (Cornu) and the USA (Miami).
