BioLife Solutions and OriGen Biomedical to collaborate

BioLife Solutions, a Washington, US manufacturer of hypothermic storage and cryopreservation media for cells, tissues, and organs, has signed distribution and contract manufacturing services agreements with Texan firm OriGen Biomedical, with the aim of helping customers to comply better with regenerative medicine products" regulations.


BioLife Solutions, a Washington, US manufacturer of hypothermic storage and cryopreservation media for cells, tissues, and organs, has signed distribution and contract manufacturing services agreements with Texan firm OriGen Biomedical, with the aim of helping customers to comply better with regenerative medicine products" regulations.

OriGen supplies disposable biologic packaging products, including specialist products for cell culture and stem cell freezing using EVA, FEP and Kapton/FEP materials.

The two companies have agreed to introduce sterile standard and custom biologic packaging products pre-filled with BioLife's serum-free, protein-free HypoThermosol cell and tissue storage/transport media and CryoStor cryopreservation media.

Under the non-exclusive, worldwide distribution agreement, OriGen will purchase BioLife's HypoThermosol and CryoStor products for distribution to OriGen customers.

Under the contract manufacturing services agreement, BioLife will manufacture OriGen's DMSO and DMSO/Dextran cryopreservation media products under sterile GMP conditions into various packaging options.
