CPhI/ICSE/P-MEC Japan 2010

21 - 23 April 2010
Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Center, Tokyo, Japan

The dates will the same as in 2009 - 21-23 April - but UBM's trio of pharma 2010 pharma services events in Tokyo's Big Sight, clustered around CPhI Japan and including ICSE Japan and P-MEC Japan, promise to be better than ever ! Standout feature will be the larger BioPh - Bio solutions for pharma - pavilion within CPhI, being held in Tokyo for the ninth time.

BioPh completes UBM's line-up of simultaneous, single-site events - providing wide coverage and great networking opportunities across all main pharma services sectors in the world's second largest pharma market. The contract services event ICSE Japan will be staged for the sixth time and 2010 will see the third running of the equipment and technology event P-MEC Japan.

Despite the challenging business climate, organisers UBM recorded gains in key show numbers for 2009. For 2010, the target is therefore to match or exceed last year's 14,000 attendees, who were hosted by 445 exhibitors from 27 countries.

With healthcare market confidence returning, and Asia an accelerating focus for the global pharma services industry, UBM's sister events in Japan and China are firmly on the international calendar. The extended BioPharma pavilion within CPhI Japan signals the increasing convergence of pharma and biotech business models in global healthcare - and the growing numbers of bio-pharma partnerships in drug innovation, production and market delivery.

The exhibition is a timely link between the biotech innovation that increasingly drives pharma and the proven networking platform of CPhI for ingredients and production interests. BioPharma Pavilion had its debut at last year's CPhI Japan, and a major launch during October 2009 at Europe's CPhI Worldwide in Madrid. In Tokyo, national pavilions for Italy, China, Korea, UK and India will all be prominent. Bio-pharma topics will also have corresponding prominence within the exhibition's conference and seminar programme. CPhI Japan is universally recognised for its technical seminar content, with last year's 130+ seminars representing a major gain over 2008.

Eliane van Doorn, UBM International Media's Group Director for Pharma Ingredients events commented: 'The BioPharma pavilion and keynote and special seminar programmes were important drivers for event quality and success last year. The biopharma story is getting more prominent all the time and with the financial weather now easing the outlook for 2010/2011 is promising.' Formal supporters of the four 2010 events in Tokyo include Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and 18 trade associations and industry organisations.
