Call for entries to Eppendorf Award

Researchers under 35 are invited to enter Young European Investigators Award 2011

Young researchers working in Europe who are not older than 35 are invited to apply for the Eppendorf Award for Young European Investigators 2011.

This prestigious prize, established in 1995, acknowledges outstanding contributions to biomedical research in Europe based on methods of molecular biology, including novel analytical concepts. The closing date for entries is 15 January 2011.

An independent expert committee chaired by Kai Simons of the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics, Dresden, Germany, will select the winner.

The prizewinner will receive:

  • €15,000;
  • an invitation to the prize ceremony at the EMBL Advanced Training Centre in Heidelberg, Germany, on 25 May 2011;
  • an invitation to visit Eppendorf in Hamburg, Germany;
  • media coverage of his/her work in Nature magazine and in podcasts.

Only online applications are accepted. The online registration portal will be open for applications on 1 August 2010.
