Energy Efficiency Consultancy (EECO2) appoints head of life sciences division

Keith Beattie takes the position, strengthening the management team

UK-based Energy Efficiency Consultancy (EECO2) has appointed Keith Beattie to lead its Life Sciences Division. Beattie trained as a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Energy Manager and has more than 20 years’ experience of leading teams in engineering, manufacturing, facilities and building services.

Beattie joins the firm after 12 years with a global pharmaceutical manufacturer where he rose to Energy & Environmental Sustainability Leader. During his work there, on just one site within the company, his expertise and contribution led to a 30% improvement in energy efficiency, a 50% reduction in water intake and zero waste to landfill.

His extensive knowledge of facilitation and project management also resulted in several prestigious international awards for delivering energy and carbon savings using both innovative and standard technology.

In addition to his expertise in driving sustainability improvements, Beattie is also an international conference speaker, renowned for his wealth of expertise throughout the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors.

To date EECO2 has delivered more than £10m in global energy savings to the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector working with global firms such as GSK, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Novartis and Sanofi.
