Aims to become one of the largest suppliers of assembly automation for point-of-care tests and components

Ginolis, a Finnish supplier of test and manufacturing systems for diagnostic disposables for medtech, pharmaceutical and diagnostic companies, is to buy the Life Science Division of fellow Finnish company JOT Automation for an undisclosed sum.

The company will be merged into Ginolis during the first half of 2015.

Ginolis CEO Teijo Fabritius said: 'Our vision is to provide more effective healthcare for the benefit of patients globally by introducing unique solutions to the diagnostic, life science and medtech industries. Our approach is similar to the one adopted in the electronics industry, known for tremendous productivity.

'By complementing our offering with JOT’s life science product range we come closer to achieving our goal. We aim to be one of the largest suppliers of assembly automation for point-of-care tests and microfabricated components and products used in the medtech and diagnostics industry.'

Mika Kettula, CEO of JOT Automation, a supplier of Test and production solutions, added: 'We are focusing our efforts on strengthening our test and precision assembly portfolios for the telecom industry, and Ginolis is better positioned to serve global life science clients.'
