Published: 27-Jan-2023

The total area of the new site covers over 11,000 square metres including a 3,400 square metres clean room space

Nemera has lifted the lid on a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, inaugurated in Poland.

Based in Szczecin, this facility will significantly boost Nemera’s manufacturing capabilities and bring more drug delivery device solutions to patients.

“We broke ground just over a year ago and I am amazed by what our teams have achieved since, despite the challenges of COVID-19 and the conflict in Ukraine. Our unaltered focus on patient needs and passion to develop drug delivery device solutions will serve our customers & patients well into the future.” said Marc Hämel, CEO of Nemera

The total area of the new site covers over 11,000 square metres including a 3,400 square metres clean room space, which can be extended in the future. The manufacturing facility will also harbour research and development resources to support design and prototyping of new devices in an integrated way. The entire infrastructure is designed with the latest technology, materials and sustainability standards to ensure maximum quality and safety of our products. The facility is built with modern and pro-ecological solutions - for instance, heat is recovered from the process line. The facility also segregates and sorts all waste, aiming at recycling 100%.

Bolstering capabilities

The new manufacturing facility will focus initially on injection devices and gradually develop and manufacture devices across different delivery routes. It’ll be capable of developing prototypes, produce small series for clinical batches as well as large scale automated volumes.

Opening doors for local talent

Currently, Nemera Szczecin employs 150 people, and this number is growing. In the next few years, the company aims to triple our workforce and open new opportunities in the region.

By 2025, Nemera Szczecin envisages 350 talents at the facility with expertise in mechanics, mechatronics, automation, plastics technologies as well as project management and design.

“This is a very exciting time to be at Nemera. I’m confident that with all the hard work our people have put in we’ve created the best possible working environment for our people to grow and our business to thrive.” said Alberto Lozano, Director of Nemera Szczecin.
