SkyePharma cfo takes over as ceo

Will retain responsibility for the group’s financial matters

Axel Mueller has resigned as chief executive and a director of SkyePharma with immediate effect to pursue other interests.

Peter Grant, who has been chief financial officer of the London, UK-based drug delivery firm since November 2006, will replace him. Grant will also retain responsibility for the Group’s financial matters and oversee the continuing activities to achieve Flutiform regulatory approval.

Frank Condella, SkyePharma’s chairman, commented: ‘Peter’s knowledge of the Group, understanding of the finances, excellent track record in reducing SkyePharma’s cost base and experience of the Flutiform development and regulatory process over the past five years make him the ideal candidate to take the company forward.’

Before joining SkyePharma, Grant was interim chief executive of Voice Commerce Group, group finance director at Eurodis Electron, chief financial officer at WorldPay and group finance director then group chief executive at Molins. Prior to that, he held a variety of senior commercial, financial and general management roles at General Electric Company.
