Whitehouse Scientific celebrated a successful first season as proud sponsor of local Under-11 girls’ soccer side, Waverton Primary School. After winning the Chester League title and Chester Cup, the school team has triumphed as the English Schools Football Association Girls Under-11 Danone National Football Champions for 2013.

‘It is a massive success for this young team, we are thrilled not only with the title wins but also the enthusiasm of the team that we are sponsoring, and I’d like to congratulate the whole squad, school and coaches,’ said Whitehouse Scientific’s CEO, Graham Rideal.

‘We firmly believe in supporting our local communities and charities in and around Chester, especially encouraging children into active sport.’

Waverton competed against the top eight teams in the country in the ESFA Danone National Finals at the Hive, Barnet Football Club’s training ground. After qualifying for the semi-finals the team beat Bristol side Westbury Academy in a dramatic sudden death penalty shoot out. The girls then faced Elloughton Primary School from East Riding in the final. Despite being 1-0 down at half time, they overturned the deficit to finish as 3-1 winners.
