Ocean Optics, a manufacturer of miniature spectrometers and related spectroscopy equipment based in Dunedin, Florida, US, has appointed Kevin Chittim as company president. Former president Robert Randelman has become divisional chief executive of Ocean Optics’ parent company, Halma plc.
Prior to his appointment at Ocean Optics, Chittim was chief executive at sister Halma company, Labsphere, where led the company through a period of explosive growth, including a successful merger with SphereOptics in 2010, and the establishment of a wholly owned subsidiary in Shanghai, China.
Before joining Labsphere in 2007, Chittim held executive positions at Radiant Imaging, Melles Griot, Newport and Spectra Physics.
