Venture capital funds will support expansion in Oxford and opening of Cambridge informatics outpost
Oxford Nanopore Technologies, a developer of DNA sequencing technologies, is to expand its Oxford headquarters and create an ‘informatics outpost’ in Cambridge, UK, to cope with recent rapid growth.
The expansion will be funded by Oxford Nanopore’s recent venture capital injection of £25m.
Informatics is a fundamental building block of the DNA sequencing and protein analysis systems being developed by Oxford Nanopore and according to chief executive Gordon Sanghera a location in Cambridge will enable it to attract ‘the best informaticians’.
The new premises will also provide long-term growth capacity.
