Carlo Truppi has joined Penn Pharma, a UK provider of pharmaceutical development and manufacturing services, as US business development manager.
Truppi, who is based in New Jersey, has been hired to drive business from US companies in the Eastern half of North America for Penn’s new Contained Manufacturing Operation in Tredegar, South Wales. He will focus on Boston, Pennsylvania and New Jersey pharma hubs.
Truppi brings more than 20 years’ experience including a decade in processing equipment and ten years in pharmaceutical services to the role.
Penn Pharma’s chief executive, Dr Richard Yarwood, said: ‘Carlo is going to play a pivotal role in finding business for our recently constructed Contained Manufacturing Operation, which is due to open in Q1 2013. His broad experience in the industry will be invaluable to us as we grow our capability in processing highly potent drug products.’
Penn Pharma’s new £14m high containment facility includes equipment and systems for the development and commercial supply of tablets and capsules containing highly potent actives.
