The Copley inhaler testing academy is a new initiative from a global manufacturer and supplier of orally inhaled and nasal drug product (OINDP) testing equipment.
Delivered at Copley’s purpose-built headquarters in Nottingham, UK, by in-house experts, the intensive full-day session combines lectures with practical demonstrations.
It also provides a unique opportunity for hands-on interaction with the full range of the company’s state-of-the-art OINDP testing equipment. The first academy will run on 10th April 2024.
“Last year we conducted a pilot training workshop in preparation for the academy that was significantly oversubscribed and received highly favourable reviews from those that secured a place,” said Matthew Fenn, Head of Business Development, Copley.
“Attendees highlighted the ‘great content and demos’ and awarded top ratings to both the knowledge of the trainers and the clarity of materials. And they appreciated the chance to see all the solutions we offer in representative test set-ups, with plenty of time to get a feel for how easy they are to use. The fully developed Academy is the outcome of that experience, and we look forward to extending our hospitality to participants in the April session.”
The key themes of the Academy are the principles of compendial methods for all types of OINDPs, variability reduction and strategies for improving data quality including the use of semi-automation.
There is growing interest in pulmonary and intranasal drug delivery within the pharmaceutical industry, but the specialist test regimes and the complexity of the methods requires expert knowledge.
The company already offers both standard and bespoke training packages at its headquarters or on-site.
The Academy will help to address the considerable need for introductory training while at the same time enabling more experienced customers to learn more about innovations in test methods and equipment.
