The North Carolina facility will allow Nipro to better serve US customers, while also creating 232 jobs for the local area

Nipro Medical Corporation, a medical device specialist, is expanding its footprint to the US with its first North American manufacturing facility in Greenville, North Carolina.

The USD $398m development will generate 232 new jobs, and will be carried out over a five year period.

Expanding into the US for better industry connectivity

By placing operations in the US, Nipro plans to boost its presence in the North American market, while also reducing the necessity for the transport of its devices across the globe.

The facility, when completed, will produce medical devices to assist in the treatment of a range of diseases — including diabetes and chronic kidney disease.

Nipro strategically placed its medical device manufacturing facility in North Carolina owing to its strong presence of STEM businesses, and hopes to foster collaborations with both customers and other pharmaceutical companies.

Tsuyoshi Yamazaki, Senior Managing Director of Global Business at Nipro, commented: “We are thrilled to start manufacturing our cutting-edge medical devices in the U.S., which will support local healthcare professionals and patients with a stable supply chain and reduced transportation costs. Our close proximity to customers will allow us to better respond to their needs and provide them with timely and effective solutions.”
