In a recent report based on insights gathered from stakeholders in the pharmaceutical sector, Roche has topped the poll of the world's 'most trusted and liked' pharmaceutical companies, followed by Novartis and GSK.

The report was released by Caliber, a stakeholder intelligence company based in Copenhagen.

The poll was based on more than 30,000 ratings of the 34 largest pharmaceutical companies globally, which was defined by market capitalisation across 13 seperate markets.

The next in contention

Pfizer had the fourth-best reputation, followed by Johnson & Johnson, Moderna and AstraZeneca.

However, multiple companies failed to clear Caliber's "15% familiarity" threshold, resulting in their exclusion from the ranking system; this included Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly and Merck.

Reputations suffered slightly compared with last year

Caliber’s report also provided a snapshot of the reputation the pharmaceutical industry currently holds amongst stakeholders.

It shows thta perceptions have fallen since Caliber's previous sector survey in 2023, and the average 'Trust & Like' score fell by two points to 65 out of 100.

The average 'Integrity' and 'Inspiration scores also fell, with only 'Innovation' receiving a high score on Caliber's scale.
