A new grinding experience

With the new Ultra-Centrifugal Mill ZM 200, Retsch has developed a rotor mill that not only grinds rapidly, but is also very gentle on the sample material. It is suitable for a wide range of products and achieves grind sizes down to 40µm, depending on the material properties.

The mill has a high-performance drive that is said to increase substantially sample throughput in the laboratory. More than twice the feed material can be processed compared with similar rotor mills; even if too much material is fed into the mill, the selected speed remains constant and the grinding process can be completed successfully.

A wide range of accessories is available for the ZM 200, which makes it suitable for almost any grinding task. There are grinding tools for small amounts up to 25ml or for large amounts up to 5 litres. For the latter, a vibratory feeder allows for automatic and uniform sample feeding, which can greatly improve the grinding results.

Temperature-sensitive samples such as powder coatings can be processed with the help of distance sieves. Due to the greater distance between rotor and sieve plate, less heat is produced during the grinding process, thus preventing the sample material from melting at the ring sieve.

The ZM 200 can also be used for heavy-metal-free grinding thanks to grinding tools made of titanium.
