AAIPharma Services, a leading provider of pharmaceutical product development and manufacturing services, has appointed Dr Paul Maffuid as executive vice president of operations. Dr Maffuid will have responsibility for the company's drug product development services functions.
He comes to AAIPharma Services with a 27-year career in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical product development. His oversight has included chemical and formulation development, manufacturing, analytical control functions and drug metabolism teams that successfully influenced the discovery and transition of novel therapeutics through clinical development and commercial launch.
Most recently, Dr Maffuid served as president of biopharmalogics, a provider of drug product consulting services to the life science industry. His career spans expanding leadership roles at Arena Pharmaceuticals, Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Magellan Laboratories, Cabrillo Laboratories and Glaxo Research Institute.
