Aesica appoints new director

Kevin Cook to become md of API Business Unit

Contract manufacturer Aesica Pharmaceuticals has appointed Kevin Cook as managing director of its Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient Business Unit with the aim of growing the division.

Prior to joining Aesica, Cook worked for Rhodia Pharma Solutions as industrial director and Shasun Pharma Solutions as president. He has more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Robert Hardy, chief executive of Aesica, said: ‘Kevin’s appointment is strategically important to the business as we continue to enhance our global presence and reputation while expanding into new markets with a focus on increasing our US market share and establishing a presence in India.

‘Our recent acquisition of three UCB sites in Europe demonstrates our commitment to enhancing our full service offering and will enable the business development team to enhance and strengthen our unique service proposition.’
