Almac wins Aer Lingus Viscount award for Overall Excellence

Almac is recognised for its contribution to sustaining business ties between the UK and Ireland.

Almac has received formal recognition of the contribution it has made to sustain business ties between the UK and Ireland.

The Craigavon-based international contract development and manufacturing organisation has won the Aer Lingus Viscount Award for Overall Excellence.

The award is given annually for providing an outstanding contribution to the Northern Irish economy and improving business relationships between the UK and Ireland.

Aer Lingus, in association with UTV and Business Eye, chose Almac in recognition the company's enhancement of the Northern Irish knowledge economy and for its continued growth in global markets.

The judging panel was made up of Tracy Meharg, managing director of the Innovation & Capability Group at Invest NI, Ann McGregor, chief executive of the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce, Jamie Delargy, business editor at UTV, Richard Buckley, editor of Business Eye and Enda Corneille, corporate affairs director at Aer Lingus.

"This award is testament to the excellence we have achieved across all divisions of our business, and in particular, the excellent team we have built, which has enabled Almac to grow into the successful company that it is today," said Alan Armstrong, chief executive of Almac.
