The American Chemistry Council has released a statement ahead of President Trump's State of the Union Address, expressing support for the President's "America First" agenda.
In the statement released on Tuesday, President and CEO Chris Jahn highlighted that increased domestic chemical manufacturing would lower costs across the economy.
"US chemical manufacturers are foundational to nearly every sector President Trump has prioritised—from energy dominance and advanced manufacturing to AI, semiconductors, infrastructure, healthcare and defence."

"Our message to the Administration is simple: we stand ready to turn your America First agenda into operating plants, breakthrough technologies and modernised infrastructure—all of which require the power of chemistry."
"Making more chemistry in America helps make America more affordable. Manufacturing essential materials here at home lowers costs across the economy—from energy and housing to consumer goods and technology—helping keep everyday prices in check."
Jahn also highlighted the need for policies that enhance domestic production, including trade policies that support US production while addressing unfair foreign practices.
"To fully realise this opportunity, we need policies that unlock domestic production: a modern, science-based TSCA programme that is timely and predictable; permitting reform that accelerates critical projects, especially those that enable abundant and accessible energy; competitive and reliable rail service and trade policies that reward US production and address unfair foreign practices."
These are practical steps that will drive investment, create jobs and ensure the United States remains the best place in the world to manufacture.
