Bilcare Research to open second plant in Wales
Bilcare doubles its European capacity for clinical supplies
Bilcare Global Clinical Supplies, a global provider of clinical trial services headquartered in India, is to open a second plant on the Elvicta Industrial Estate, Crickhowell, Wales, UK.
The new unit will add 30,000ft2 and double the company's European capacity to package, store and distribute clinical supplies in ambient, refrigerated and frozen conditions.
Bilcare established its foothold in Wales in 2006 when it purchased DHP and invested £11m in setting up a new clinical supplies facility, which opened in 2007.
‘With the drug discovery programme leading to potential new drugs becoming more complex, the need to clinically test drug efficacy and safety in diverse population groups across multiple geographic regions is becoming a crucial necessity,’ said Mohan Bhandari, chairman and managing director of Bilcare Limited.
‘This has led Bilcare to expand and open new facilities in the US, Europe and Asia. With this expansion at Crickhowell, we are now geared to cater to the ever-challenging requirements of our customers.’
