FILTRODISC BIO SD, which was nominated and shortlisted for the ACHEMA Innovation Award 2012, was the first depth filtration system using the advantages of combining standard depth filtration with alluvial filtration, in a disposable format.
This exciting single-use filtration solution compliments the extensive range of single-use products that BioPharma Dynamics are proud to offer.

Depth filtration provides a high performance filtration solution to applications with higher dirt loads, where other filters such as membranes do not provide sufficient life-time.
By passing pressurised liquid through a three-dimensional matrix, the particles are then trapped and expertly filtered through use of filter aid, such as diatomaceous earth (DE). Eliminating the centrifuge and the Acoustic Wave System, it combines the first two steps in cell removal e.g. centrifugation and depth filtration.
The small footprint of the system makes it perfect for small production facilities, such as lab scale, further giving scope to be scaled up to full-production.
