Brecon breaks blister output record

Pharmaceutical solid dose packaging specialist Brecon Pharmaceuticals recently installed a new blister line incorporating a Noack 623 blister packer. The machine was supplied by Romaco UK, and the new line quickly proved its value when an urgent order was received. The additional capacity, coupled with significant investment in personnel over recent months, enabled Brecon to achieve outputs in excess of 100,000 packs per day from a single line for the first time.

Operations director Andrew Billington said: 'The 623s take us into higher realms of speed, and the increased web width (230mm as opposed to 160mm) gives a great deal of flexibility in pack layout. For this particular job, we were able to run four blisters per cycle - a significant factor in helping us to meet a very tight deadline.' Noack machines and investment in Laetus Polyphem blister inspection systems give the company the capability to handle all sizes of blister and to run efficiently and cost-effectively.
