Brenntag has opened its new pharmaceutical application development centre, situated in the heart of the Singapore science park.
It is also the newest member to join Brenntag Specialties’ global network of now 82 innovation and application development centres catering to various industries such as nutrition and personal care to share best practices, knowledge, and insights within Brenntag and with our business partners.
“Singapore is an ideal location for our first pharmaceutical application development centre, given its thriving ecosystem of R&D partners, technology providers and talent,” said Romain Girard, President of Pharma Asia Pacific in Brenntag Specialties. “Brenntag Specialties will act as an important link to our customers and suppliers to bring innovation closer to the marketplace. The work we do here will translate to state-of-the-art solutions for the Pharma and Nutraceutical industries.”
Innovation and application development centres are an essential part of delivering value added service
“The opening of our pharma application development centre in Singapore is another step to execute Brenntag’s ‘strategy to win’ by building capabilities and offering innovative services for the global pharma and biopharma industries,” said Torsten Walz, Senior Vice President of Global Industry Development at Brenntag.
The facility will focus on research and development in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical applications, in areas such as melt-in-the-mouth tablets, controlled drug release mechanisms and others. Dedicated Brenntag experts will also provide customers and suppliers with regional concepts and prototype development, customised formulation support, technical solutions, powder characterisation and stability studies for a broad range of applications.
”Innovation and application development centres are an essential part of delivering value added services to Brenntag Specialties partners in the Asia Pacific market. Our first pharma R&D facility in the world, located in Singapore, is indeed a great addition to our strong network of 36 innovation and application development centres in the region,” said Francois Bleger, Regional President of Brenntag Specialties Asia Pacific.
