Mesa Laboratories, of Colorado in the US, has launched its next generation of high performance data loggers with real-time capability.

Historically there were two ways to collect data from a process: wired logging systems or wireless data loggers. The new DataTrace RF system combines the reliability of more than 25 years of process data logging experience with state-of-the-art radio frequency (RF) technology, allowing for a real-time view of any process.

The DataTrace RF system is comprised of data loggers (transmitters), repeaters (signal relay devices), a host (receiver) and software. It includes all the features of previous DataTrace systems and adds the capability to transmit data to the PC in real time through Mesa's proprietary DTLinc RF network. DTLinc operates on 2.4 GHz, which is usable worldwide without a special licence and uses an energy efficient and robust "point-to-point" configuration to maximise battery life.

DTLinc's exclusive AutoRecover feature ensures 100% of the data is received and stored in the DataTrace RF database and made available for further analysis.
