Swiss speciality pharmaceutical company Dipharma has completed its acquisition of UK-based LogixX Pharma, establishing a direct commercial presence in the UK and strengthening its capabilities in the rare disease medicines market.
The acquisition brings LogixX, a speciality pharmaceutical company headquartered in Theale, Berkshire, into the Dipharma Group as a wholly owned subsidiary.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 2010, LogixX specialises in marketing medicines for rare and metabolic diseases in the UK, supplying the National Health Service (NHS) and homecare providers.
The company has been Dipharma's UK commercial partner for nearly ten years, distributing its nitisinone medicine and, since 2023, sapropterin dihydrochloride.
The acquisition will establish LogixX as a platform for future Dipharma product launches in the UK, with the group's development, regulatory and quality expertise supporting the expansion of its pharmaceutical portfolio.
Dipharma said the integration would combine its drug development capabilities with LogixX's established knowledge of the UK rare chronic disease market.
Fabio Cannata, General Manager of Dipharma, said the acquisition would provide a foundation for developing new therapeutic options and making them available to patients and families affected by rare chronic diseases.
LogixX’s greatest strength is its people: over the years, the team has built deep knowledge of the UK rare chronic disease market.
Michael Close, Chief Executive Officer of LogixX, said joining the Dipharma Group would give the business access to greater resources to broaden its portfolio and bring additional treatment options to patients.
Our teams have worked side by side for years to bring Dipharma’s medicines to UK patients, always with the same commitment to fairness and integrity.
"I am immensely proud of what we have built together: deep expertise in rare metabolic diseases and the trust of the clinicians, pharmacists and homecare teams who care for the patients relying on our medicines."
LogixX will retain its existing name and continue operating under Michael Close's leadership, with its employees remaining in their current roles.
LogixX's fertility business, which now operates as a separate company, was excluded from the deal.
