Diversa Corporation, of San Diego, US, and Degussa, of Duesseldorf in Germany, have entered into an agreement to evaluate and commercialise selected biocatalysts. Under the terms of the agreement, Diversa will supply biocatalysts to Degussa for evaluation and process development. Degussa will pay an initial fee to access Diversa's proprietary biocatalysts, fees associated with the development efforts, and license fees and royalties on products commercialised as part of the agreement.
