In addition to granular and powder forms Dow\'s Carbowax Sentry solid polyethylene glycol (PEG) now also comes in flakes.
In addition to granular and powder forms Dow's Carbowax Sentry solid polyethylene glycol (PEG) now also comes in flakes.
The water-soluble linear polymers, produced by Dow Polyglycols and Surfactants, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company, come in grades 3350, 4000 and 8000.
The PEGs are hard waxy solids used in topical and liquid pharmaceutical and API applications as excipients and carriers. The new flaked grades provide an alternative to granular products.
The differences in physical properties between flaked and granular grades are minimal, but the flakes dissolve or melt faster than the solid or granular product, making it more efficient and economical to use.
