DS Smith Plastics Cool Logistics, a UK manufacturer of temperature-controlled packaging solutions, has appointed Stuart McPherson as Managing Director to head the business and develop new business now that it is part of the wider DS Smith network.
McPherson has been with DS Smith for the past 17 years, most recently as Chief Executive of DS Smith company Stepac, a supplier of high-quality precision engineered modified atmosphere and humidity fresh produce packaging.
Mark Smith, Chief Executive, DS Smith Plastics, said McPherson brings an in-depth knowledge of the DS Smith Plastics multi-material and global operation into the heart of the Cool Logistics business.
‘His knowledge and experience will drive the company to develop its global service offering to its best effect,’ he said.
DS Smith Plastics Cool Logistics has also hired Paul Terry as Sales & Marketing Director. He is an engineer by qualification and has an extensive career history, working for firms such as Domtar, SCA Packaging, Coca-Cola and Mobil.
Nick Walsh has re-joined the business as Network Sales Manager to co-ordinate the activities of the company’s indirect sales teams through DS Smith Group businesses and global partners.
The company has also expanded its Product Design and Customer Project teams with three new technical design members, Kofi Danso, Sean Austerberry and Rick Hill.
Cool Logistics’ is headquartered in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, UK and operates globally with an extensive international network of partnerships and manufacturing locations.
DS Smith Plastics Cool Logistics was acquired in July 2012 through the acquisition of SCA Packaging.
