EC calls for research proposals under Innovative Medicines Initiative
Makes available €105m of funding
The European Commission has released another call for research proposals under the European Union (EU) Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI), and is making €105m of funding available.
Brussels has highlighted priority topics for research projects more likely to attract funding.
These include:
- Information systems for patient data;
- Translation and knowledge management;
- Delivery and targeting mechanisms for biological macromolecules;
- Biopharmaceutical tools for oral drug delivery; sustainable chemistry;
- Pluripotent stem cells for drug discovery and safety assessment; and
- Binding kinetics in drug discovery
The IMI promotes pre-competitive pharmaceutical research and development, targeting funding bottlenecks that can hold up the creation of new medicines.
