Electro Mec adaptor speeds up changeover for AstraZeneca
AstraZeneca now has the flexibility to change from dedicated feeding to Universal Brush Box following the installation of a specially adapted EMF feeder from Electro-mec (Reading). This allows quick changeover for small batch runs on blisterpacks - for pre-launch stocks or trials.
Developed in conjunction with AZ, the new EMF 1D features a unique Brush Box interface, which allows the normal feed tube arrangement to be removed and replaced with the Brush Box in around 90 seconds.
The Electro-mec Brush Box has several features to maximise its efficiency. These include vertical orbital paddle arrangements and motorised cross brushes, which can be adjusted in relation to the web, plus an innovative diverter assembly which senses and controls the amount of incoming product to different areas of the box.
This allows the minimum amount of product to be retained within the box, which keeps web drag to a minimum.
