Envirowise offers guidance on using water more efficiently
Envirowise, a UK Government-funded programme dedicated to putting the sustainable use of resources at the heart of UK business practice, has launched a step-by-step online water efficiency tool that will help companies identify where and how water is used and treated, the costs involved, and practical ways to reduce and re-use it. The tool will also help them keep control of costs and make them future proof against rate rises and supply shortages.

The move follows the success of the Rippleffect initiative, run last year by Envirowise to help businesses tackle water use. Around 500 businesses signed up to the scheme.
Claire Sweeney, water specialist at Envirowise, says: "While many of us consider water to be a cheap and endless resource, the reality is that we are using and wasting far too much, and this is placing extra pressure on existing supplies as well as impacting on the bottom line.
"It is crucial that people are aware of the serious and complex issues around water supply and use and we hope the new Water Efficiency Tool from Envirowise will help businesses address these challenges in the most effective way."
