Compressor and vacuum pump manufacturer Gardner Denver has appointed Charles Joel as its new Global Internet of Things (IoT) and Analytics Director.
Joel will be responsible for shaping the digital transformation of Gardner Denver and developing the company’s iConn IoT platform for connectivity and analytics.
iConn enables users of compressed air services to manage, optimise and improve its processes. The new digital focussed strategy of iConn and Gardner Denver aims to provide organisations with valuable analytics that will help transform operational efficiencies.
Joel has previously been employed as M2M IoT Solutions Manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Sierra Wireless, before joining IBM as the UK Lead for Industry 4.0 and IoT transformational related functions.
These roles included delivering manufacturing and large-scale organisational change programmes, covering technology, business mapping, and merging operational and information technology disciplines.
Joel said: “People often think IoT is an emergent market, but this is no longer the case. In fact, it’s taken 20 years for it to come of age. Gardner Denver has recognised this market’s huge potential, and are looking to transform their traditional product line in order to further develop their digital analysis and insight.
"The company is at the forefront of this industry-wide change, offering organisations the opportunity to gain advanced analytics with iConn, which will help remove risks, improve productivity and reduce energy consumption. These intelligent insights will shape the future of compressed air generation.”
