Gerresheimer has significantly expanded its syringe production capacity at its Skopje, North Macedonia site.
The extension adds around 7,600m2 of glass syringe production space to the existing 14,600m2 at the site, and will allow the company to better serve its European clients in the injectables market.
Through this site expansion, Gerresheimer estimates that it will double its employee count to 500 during the next five years.
This strategic move will expand Gerresheimer's global capacity to supply drug delivery systems and syringes to both current and new customers.
GMP manufacturing in Skopje
According to Gerresheimer, its Skopje site is specifically designed to produce syringes and tubular glass packaging solutions.
The site also has GMP Class C and D cleanrooms, which can be used for the production of aseptic syringes.
The new hall provides space for the precision glass forming lines developed and manufactured by Gerresheimer itself, as well as specific assembly and ready-to-fill lines.
Gerresheimer's Skopje site also integrates the production of plastic and glass pharmaceutical packaging, meaning companies can receive fully assembled syringes that are ready to fill.

The first production lines at the Skopje facility will be in operation shortly, with more being added during 2025.
